Response to Group Project Aspect/ My Contribution

I loved the movie and watched it many times growing up and I was very excited to enter a group where everyone shared the same enthusiasm. The book was illuminating and had many added extra layers of ideas that the film dealt with differently. I was eager to see what my group had to say about both. I took it upon myself to push hard to get everyone together for meetings and keep them organized. The going back and forth via email stuff did not make our ideas flourish and was slowing the process. We had 3 official meetings (content, structure) and some smaller ones (technical, editing) and from those meetings we developed a communal goal, activity and plan for our presentation. Everyone stayed in communication (with a few minor gaps) and were very cordial to each other, contributing much to group discussions. In the end I felt my strongest contribution was helping add, edit and narrow down topics (we had a lot to say and a strict time limit) and develop questions for each. I helped streamline meetings and I also enjoyed finding clips that related to our wide range of topics. After our collaboration it was hard to determine who came up with what, since each topic and question developed got blended, changed and expanded upon by many group members. Group projects are messy and frustrating and we had our share of each, but, in the end, I believe this was one of the smoother and most collaborative projects I have been a part of.
